iPad 2

The second generation of the iPad with Wi-Fi, GSM and CDMA models. Some models were refreshed before the iPad 3. Repair is difficult and requires heat and prying. Released on March 11th, 2011. Model numbers: A1395, A1396, and A1397.

iPad 2 wont display after opening but iTunes can still recognize it.

I opened my iPad 2 for the hope of fixing my digitizer because a small part of it wont work. I removed the screen and the digitizer but after returning it back the screen wont turn on. I want to try restarting it but I cannot turn it off. :(

Notes:

My Power button is not working because of its damage cable
I did not turn off the iPad when removing some parts because I forgot it and my power button is not working.

:(

I remember last time I went to a technician to repair its digitizer , same issue occur but he did something to turn the screen back to normal. I forgot what he said but I guess he said something about grounding it. I really forgot.

Hi,

There is a number of ways for you to reset your iPad.

1. You can download a program call Recboot 2.2 the program can put the device in recovery mode.

right after it put your ipad in recovery mode you can use it to exit recovery mode.

2. Unscrew the battery screw and gently slide a business card under it and pull it back out.

Afterward attach it, connect a cable to the iPad and it will boot up.

If none of those options work you might have shorted the backlight filter.

lonecrow, the trick that the technician used was to reboot the iPad by pressing and holding the Home Button + Power Button together for ~12 seconds. Without a working power button, you can use Sunny's trick (option 2) to achieve the same result. Don't forget to reset the time and date afterwards.

Thanks a lot it works but I used ReiBoot because Recboot does not work for windows with x64.
