Screen went black randomly

OK sooo I've read alot of these forms/questions but i havent seen anything like whats going on with mine i had dropped my phone and went with a cracked screen for about a year until the screen chipping got outta hand and glass was coming out really bad i order new screen replaced it it work GREAT for about a week i got a new otterbox so the phone has not been outta the case after the new screen replacement yesterday it was at 50% battery when the screen went out RANDOMLY i took the screen off realized one of the connectors wasnt on all the way i have fixed it but the screen still doesnt work...

You say the screen went out while battery at 50%. You mean the phone completely shut off? Or the screen was black and showed no image but the phone was on (in which case iTunes detects the phone while can it has a black screen)?

the screen went black the phone is still on.. i receive text and calls but cant answer them due to the screen having no response

Hi,

Have you tried the lock button and home button to reset it? Also try taking the battery out and reconnecting it, and then try the lock button and home button to reset it. If this doesn't work try a new screen or a new battery. :-)

yes i have tried nothing happens... as far as taking the battery out no i havent.. and the phone is still on i get text and it vibrates so i dont think the battery is bad is charges and will let you know it charges by vibrating but no screen and the screen is BRAND NEW and is flawless never been dropped and went directly into a case after the screen was put on

Try taking the battery out and putting it back in this resets the phone, if the cable was disconnected whilst the phone was on, then that would usually cause a blank screen.

You may have received a faulty screen if the suggestion above doesn't work.

Salt,

Bad screens are a dime a dozen.

Try a known good screen. If it works, then your screen is defective and needs to be replaced.

If a known good screen doesn't fix it and/or you can see a very dim image on your current screen, then your issue is backlight. Let us know, we'll tell you what could be next.
