MacBook wont recharge, no battery, no light, no sign of life

Hi All,

i bought my macbook march 2012. Its run without problem so far. Lately i realized that sometimes it took a bit for the mac to notice the recharger, but it always did.

now while i was working the battery ran out, and i didnt notice until the laptop shut off. No problem, i went to plug it in... nothing.

no light, not matter which socket, i cleaned the connecting parts, i tried every possible way... Nothing yet.

I can´t start it up because there is no juice left, and it wont recognize the plugin...

Now i don´t know much about technicalities, but i am ready to screw open the back... to do what, i don´t know :)

can someone help me please, any ideas whats the problem?

did i kill the battery? it was all fine till now suddenly :(

Thank you!!

Hi Rick,

thanks for your help!

i went to a guy to fix it (a bit of an adventure since he is about 65 years old and has no special knowledge about MacBooks :D) , and he found out the problem was the … charger? the white square box. obviously there was a short-circuit there. Now it works again (he hacked it apart, fixed it, and glued it together again, LOL).

Now it works, but the power stays on 100% all the time now it seems…. i fully recharged and unplugged to see if all is well… and it stays on 100% for 2 hours now… which can´t be. oh well,

at least it works…. O.o :)

Problem solved!

Hey,

View the link bellow maybe that answers your question:

Macbook Power Issue

and I can also briefly say what to try on your own.

Problem with charging could come from the following: charger, battery, or logic-Board. or all of them together.(very unlikely)

From my experience, most of the time its logic-board. One thing you can do is: try to get a hold of another charger, try to unplug and replug the battery, and also try connecting your macbook to power without the battery plugged in. see if that works.

Good luck!!
