Toshiba satellite L755D wont run certain programs like skype.

Hello. So i got this problem with my laptop, it wont run certain programs like skype. The program runs, but it wont open and after 3 seconds the program closes

I've tried everything so far, but nothing seems to work.

i have updatet all my drivers, tried to run a recovery systeme, i've reinstalled and removed most of my programs, still cant run some programs on my laptop. I have even gone to safe mode and tried to run cmd sf/scannow and scanned for viruses, but nothing helps.

do you guys have any suggestions for me? I'm really mad, and just want to sit here and cry, i have been working with it for days now

hami, try these things first. Be sure that Compatibility Mode is not enabled or not checked (right-click on Skype shortcut icon/launcher and select Properties >> Compatibility). Then try it. If still nothing, try to Clean Skype Folders/Files

A. Close Skype. Type or enter %appdata%\skype in the Run command, then click Ok. Look for and delete the file named Shared.XML (a fresh copy of the shared.xml file will be recreated when you login, the previous one may be corrupted causing Skype not to run properly). Restart your computer.

B. With Skype not running, Type or enter %appdata%\skype in the Run command, then click Ok. Delete temporary files all the files starting with “temp-“ or ending with “-journal”, and files with extension “.lock” and with size 0 KB . Then reboot your computer.

If you do not already have done this, set IE as your default browser. You can also try to delete temp internet files and clear cache. If possible, also disable or remove any unused or possible corrupted Internet Explorer plugins/add-ons (regardless of the web browser you set as default, Skype uses IE engines).

You can also try this if the aforementioned does not work:

1.Click Start, click Run, and then type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.

2.Locate and then click the following key in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions

3.If a value named NoBrowserOptions exists, delete it.

4.Locate and then click the following key in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions

5.If a value named NoBrowserOptions exists, delete it.

6.If you are using 64 bit version of Windows, locate and then click the following key in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions

7.If a value named NoBrowserOptions exists, delete it.

8.Restart the computer.
