Why does my screen light up, but is blank?

So I dropped my phone in the toilet last night, and the bottom half was submerged for maybe 3 seconds. The screen was working afterwards but slightly flickering, and so i just powered it off and took out the battery until this morning, when I tried powering it on. The phone screen was flickering but working and then it stabilized, but then ran out of battery so I charged the phone and retried powering it on. The screen lights up but stays black, with a little red line near the middle where the LG logo usually is on powerup. The touchscreen works and I can feel the vibration feedback from the phone. I'm wondering whether there is anything else I can do besides bag it in rice and wait and pray to God something good happens. Thanks!
