Connecting my iPod hard disk to Windows will iTunes recognice it?

Hello, please first read this thread before reading this one, since the origin of this question is from that previous thread I created: Old thread

Now, you can continue reading:

Hello!

After a few months I'm back again!

Recently I got my motherboard to a local shop to sold the old connector (since it wasnt's damaged, only detached as I said) onto the board, but then I had another problem, the part from the battery which should be connected to the little brown connector was tear apart, so even if i connected it to the motherboard it made no contact.

Since I don't know wether the battery or the brown connector is the one that is broken, I'm not thinking about buying a replacement battery or buying a new mother board. I guess I'll just let my old iPod rest in peace, it deserves it for the many good times :)

But what about the content inside the hard disk?

Well, I've been thinkign about it and I came up with a few questions:

1) If I buy an Usb-to-Zif (like this one) adapter and plug my hard disk to it, when I plug it to the computer, will Itunes recognice it as my iPod, or only Windows will recognise it as an external hard drive?

If Itunes doesn't recognice my hard disk as an iPod, 2) Is there any chance I can get back the playlists I have created using Itunes, that is to say, is there any chance I can find or convert the playlist I had on my iPod if Itunes doesn't recognice it, but if Windows recognice my hard disk as a simple external hard drive?

I hope I've explained myself clearly, since this is my last resource if I want to get back my awesome playlist, so I need your help.

Thank you a lot for your attention, I hope you can help me

Best wishes,

Edu!

Sadly, there is no means to access the files without the drive being connected to the iPod logic as the OS within the iPod uses a different file system than your Windows system does and it can't access the media files as well as they are protected.

The only way was to sync your iPod to your computers iTunes app which clearly didn't happen here before your iPod died.

The only way I can think of here Is to find a way to get your iPod working long enough to sync or find a second unit (used) to swap the drive with. If I remember correctly it does not need to be powered by the battery to work as long as the USB/FireWire connection is able to supply enough power.
