Cracked my screen putting case on

Ok, so my friend when to work yesterday and took his phone out of his pocket and his case was half way off and he went to fix it and it slipped out! he called me later asking for my help on what to do since he has no electronic experience what so ever and i have replaced several screens already, so i did some research and couldn't find any screens or repair guides anywhere, the only thing i could find was a Digitizer and I'm not sure if you can use that or if i need to get the assembly?

can someone do a teardown or a repair and let me know? thanks!
