looking to change out parts for experience, suggestions?

Lately ive been wanting to get into the smartphone repair business because it seems pretty lucrative at least where I live (college town).

Just found an old Ipod video 30gb in my car that works but condition is a little beat up. I was thinking about changing just the front and back but figured while I was in there I could mess around with some other stuff to gain practice.

So what I'm asking is what you guys would recommend I do to my IPOD video to gain practice for working on smartphones.
