edges of the screen do not read easily

I recently bought an M8 from someone( not able to get refund fyi) and i noticed that the P and Q keys were hard to press. I recalibrated and it began to work a little better. Later when i tried to reach the options tab in the upper right-hand Corner, i was unable to do so. Do i need a new digitizer , or is this a software problem?

P.S.

if i need to change a digitizer , I need tips on how to removes a jammed sd card slot....

Have you tried to reset the device back to factory settings? If so and the screen still doesn't respond to touch in the same areas then I would think that the ribbon cable or connection on the digitizer has been damaged affecting the areas that are not responding to touch. I've had that issue with a few digitizers that work in most areas but not all, and was caused from a small tear in the ribbon cable. If the touch is unresponsive in different areas of the screen depending on what apps your in then it would sound like a software related issue. Which doing resets usually fixes. If touch is unresponsive in the same area no matter what app your in it would signal a faulty digitizer that needs replaced. A small tear in the digitizer cable could cause these issues or its possible the cable needs reseated in the connection on the motherboard.

Not sure what you have tried to get the sd card out with. I have an htc one m8 and I know the card fits tightly in the slot and more than likely you have already tried to insert a small paper clip on the whole beside the slot to eject the card. I have to push the paperclip in that hole twice as hard as I would expect. So if its not budging with a paper clip you could try applying a small amount of superglue to the sd tray and a toothpick or needle and once dry pull the tray out. I would have said tweezers but I doubt you could get a grip on the tray becasue the slot is so tight and flush against the case.
