My battery drains quickly Even After replacement?

Hi

My iPhone 5 is draining battery Power rapidly, i have changed the battery for a New one, however this as not resolved the Problem.

Googled the issue, but not Fond a article/ Blog that resolves the issue

The phone does Not get warm

The phone is not jailbreaked

Background Apps / not often used Apps are disabled,

Photos reduced (saved to PC)

Videos reduced ( saved to PC)

Can there be some other Part that using soo much power?

Can it lie purely on a software Problem or can it be a Hardware problem ?

How update to date is your phone? Also have you tried letting the phone drain completely dead and then charge completely full without unplugging. Usually doing this drains the phone to adjust to the new battery. If that doesnt work you could just make sure your software is up to date or do a reset.

Hi Brandon, the phone is at the newest stand regarding updates, also tried all that what you have suggested, to no avail of it resolving the issue. thank you all the same

I use to have this problem as well and I realized that applications on phone can drain your battery. I use the battery usage feature to see which app is draining my battery and then update the apps. It worked for me. If you need more information please visit: http://www.technobezz.com/iphone-battery...

Recently I have replaced my iPhone 6s battery due to battery drainage. But after replacement also I am getting same battery drainage problem. My biggest concern is , in stand by mode , battery drained like anything.

Really? Searching rapid battery drain in iphone 5 after battery replacement does NOT bring up U2 chip? I'm shocked.

Con is right, that is definitely the most likely case. The only other possiblity is a short on the board from some old water damage that you are unaware of. Worth it to open it up and have a look. Let us know what you see. If everything looks good, I'm afraid it is U2 ic chip. It will be hard to find someone willing to replace that for you. Sometimes I give it a shot, but I don't offer it professionally as a service.

yeah i am going to open it up this weekend and have another look, but if its specialist repair regarding this chip, then it will require re-balling, i.e soldering work????

@jessabethany what about replacing tristar prevents you from offering it as a service?

The U2 can be change I no it does require a specialist as its not a simple task

The cause for the blown U2 is when you use non genuine chargers

The U2 chip, eh? My iPhone 5 does the exact same thing. I hate that U2 chip, almost as much as I hate the band U2.

I found after investigating this issue further it seems a common problem that there is a defektive chip on the mainboard that causes this problem. so if under warranty, get it repaired or exchanged for another.

if its not under warranty anymore, maybe you could buy a broken iphone off ebay or somewhere like that, and swop mainboards.
