I have taken apart my vintage fisher price merry go round to clean it and lubricate the small music box. It sprung apart before I could get a good look as to how it came apart so I could put it back together. Does anyone know a step by step guide for putting this back together?

Ha! I took pictures of another one and nowwww I know how to put it back together! If anyone wants picture to help in their own attempt to reassemble let me know where to send them!

Hi Deanna, do you know if it’s supposed to make that clicking sound (because the boy is angry??) or is that what you were trying to fix? Anything I’ve looked up about them seems that clicking is pretty common.

I'd sure love it if anyone who has taken this toy apart would send me pictures of what they found inside. I am starting to think I'm missing a spring or something that sits under the long brown gear shaft to push it up towards the red teeth on the “floor” of the carosel. It seems to be that this is where the “angry" clicking and slipping is happening.
It would not surprise me in the least to learn that my Dad maybe took it apart 20 years ago and when it sproinged apart he lost the spring. Lol

How do you fix the on off switch? And the wind up mechanism? We are able to get the merry go round to turn but the on of switch is the problem

I have the same toy that I tried to clean and lubricate so the little guy could turn the crank - but I just made it worse!
Where can one go to repair this sort of toy? I also have the old FB record player with a dial that was turned too far. Darn kids wanting to play with toys! ;-)
