Touch screen wont move, even after replacement

I have replaced a display in a iPhone 4, and a couple of weeks later the touch started messing up (not recognising any touch), for small periods of time. Now the iPhone wont budge at all. Have tried several new screen to rule out bad displays.

Could it just be time to call it dead as it is an older phone?

Restore did not help.

hard reset? Also try some compressed air over the connectors and have a real good look if the connectors aren't damaged.

The LCD connector did slightly indicate some water-damage. It had that white residue (dont know the english word??) around it but nothing was near the digitizer connector. Cleaned it of but no luck.

Something similar happened to me but I later found out that the phone was exposed to liquid (albeit briefly). Another instance was I somehow broke off a microscopic piece on the logic board. Get a really strong magnifier and look at the logic board to make sure no jumpers, etc.have broken off. If you see something missing/damaged, it'll need to be microsoldered back on. Also look at the digitizer connection on the logic board to make sure any of the pins haven't been bent or broken.

Age of the phone doesn't necessarily doom the phone, just the condition of it.

Good luck and I hope I helped.

I could see that the bottom speaker had previously been replaced (it had some sort of stamp on it), but otherwise I was not able to see any other damage to the board. Tried as well as i could to inspect and compare with another board.
