i have two 3.5" PATA hard disks. i have got a hard disk casing to use them in usb. but the laptop wont detect them or even if it does it fails to install the device driver softwares. whereas it finely runs the sata hard disk when used in the same casing. what should i do to use it ??

your using a External HDD case?(you took apart). You need to get an adapter. The External cases have a builtin back-plane that wont let you mix and match devices.
USB to PATA adapter is your solution only cost a few bucks.
