White screen except when at severe angle?

I've had my HP pavillion laptop for sometime now (around two years) and have never really had a problem with it. Its pretty integral to my school work and I've never really had problems before. However, as of recently, the screen has been flickering with lines similar to tv static. I didn't think a lot of it at first, thinking it was a glitch on my most frequented website, since it only really seemed to happen when I was on said site. However, it has progressed to the point where the entire screen fades to.completely white if I do not have the entire laptop tilted back at a severe angle. Is there any way of fixing it without expensive repair shop fees? Like i said, its completely vital to my school work so its pretty much a necessity but I don't have a lot of money at present to get it mended. Anyone any suggestions? Thanks.

you mean to say that it gets better if you tilt the entire laptop, not just the screen? what model is your Pavilion?

Yeah, its best when I have two pillows tucked just under the edge of the keyboard, though just tilting the screen appears to have little effect when the laptop is flat. Its a Pavilion g6 Notebook about two years old.

sounds like something is coming loose, may be you are exerting pressure on either the connector or the GPU. May be time to disassemble and take a look at it.
