Animal Crossing New Leaf game card not reading! Why?

Ordered an Animal Crossing New Leaf game from amazon. It was just delivered to me. I opened the box, took out the game card, inserted it and nothing happens. And Nintendogs+cats and Mario Party: Island tour are reading, but not this one. Please help.

Could be dirty contacts. Clean them with a little alcohol ina qtip and I have used a tooth pick in the past to scrub the dirt and grime off my cards contacts and they have all worked great since
