Watered but can charge it and reset smc

The problem is that I watered my MacBook with rain and it was connected to the AC, it slept and it was in that state for two hours. I think that there is no much water but of course some water there is. The rain got near the screen but screen is okay. I cant turn on it. But battery can be charged. And after some days I can charge it again. I can do reset SMC. I can't give it to the repair because I am in the place that I can't. I would be able to do it in next two months. Do you know what happened? Which part of it was destroyed, are there any chances to save it, are there any chances that this is not main board? I think there is short cut. Sorry for my English

Asking someone to diagnose a wet laptop over the Internet is similar to calling the Dr. or a mechanic to diagnose a problem over the phone. . . difficult to do without lots of information and pictures.

We (and you know): The machine got wet (not how wet) The machine won't boot, but seems to charge the battery. This may only be keyboard damage (the power on button runs through the keyboard)... but there could be more damage inside you have to open it and look.

Follow the tags at right to learn what you could be in for. Purchase the proper tools, study the guide and notes (not just read them) before you begin.

Open the machine and look for corrosion, burn marks, swollen components. With care you might try to "jump start" the box, bypassing the power on button... but you'd be working on a hot board... you have to know what your doing because if you slip with a tool, or drop a screw on the board (this has happened to others, as reported here) you could do more damage.

100% until you look. Many of these machines that got wet only suffered damge to the keyboard/top case (the newer ones are better sealed against moisture than early models that had a straight through opening to the logic board).
