Lighting connector not working

I recently replaced the Digitizer on the ipad. It was simple enough i heated and removed the old screen and replaced it with the new one. The only connectors that were removed or even touched were the connectors for the Digitizer and then the one for the LCD. I put everything back together made sure nothing got pinched and the Ipad powered on worked seemingly fine. Untill i tried to charge it and it would not take a charge. Now that it died when i press the power button the dead battery icon comes on with the picture of the lighting cord at the bottom. I can plug the connector in and the connector on the screen goes away. That tells me it is recognizing the connector but its not recieving a charge to the battery. Ive tried a diff lighting connector no difference. So i opened the ipad back up and looked at the dock connector nothing looked odd and it was connected to the logic board. So I am stumped it worked before the initial tear down.
