Upgrading the harddrive to 4TB
Hello,
A client asked me to expand his harddrive for his 27' late 2009 iMac.
Serial number of iMac: W80213R75PE
He wants to expand it to 4TB. I saw all the post on the internet regarding the temperature sensor. So that it has to be the same brand harddrive as installed now.
This is the information regarding the harddrive:'
Verbindingssnelheid: 3 gigabit
Beschrijving: AHCI Version 1.20 Supported
ST31000528ASQ:
Capaciteit: 1 TB (1.000.204.886.016 bytes)
Model: ST31000528ASQ
Revisie: AP24
Serienummer: 6VP42QJB
Native Command Queuing: Ja
Queue Depth: 32
RPM: 7200
Type partitie-indeling: GPT (GUID-partitietabel)
S.M.A.R.T.-status: Gecontroleerd
'So its a Seagate 7200RPM. I am looking on the internet, but most Seagate harddrives are 5900RPM. I am wondering if there is a big difference in terms of speed and if those drives would work:
ST4000DM000
or
ST4000VN000
I also found a SSHD from seagate running at 7200RPM. Will this be supported and will there be problems regarding the temperature sensor?
STCL4000400
Hoping for a quick reply. Thanks a lot!
