GoPro Hero 2 Randomly Turns On?

got submerged with the skeleton backdoor a yearish ago in a lake. stopped working after left in rice with battery out for a few weeks periodically trying to start it. wouldn't work say it and decided to plug it in after sitting around for a little over a year it works. records perfect now but if it has any battery life at all it randomly turns on only a minor problem, but if i am not going to use it right away and cant leave it plugged in it will drain itself of battery. wondering if it would be a simple fix or not. Thank you
