Parts to move hd to od bay, add dual ssd's?

I want to add two OWC 240 gb Mercury Extreme Pro 6G 2.5 inch 7/9.5mm SSDs to run in raid0.

Since the optical drive sata channel is only 3G I would like to move the hard drive into the optical bay and use its sata channel, but this is optional - my main goal is the two SSDs running 6G sata.

Could I leave the hard drive in position and just run its cable to the optical sata port or do I have to physically relocate the hard drive? If the hard drive is in the optical bay can I connect the optical drive temperature sensor to it? I'm not sure what options are possible and what the cable lengths are.

Since these mid-2011s run too hot anyway would I be better to just leave the hard drive out altogether? I plan to short the hard drive sensor and run the fans faster than normal to help with the heat problem.

Any suggestions on where to put what and what hardware is needed would be greatly appreciated.
