iMac 21.5" EMC 2544 LED Backlight problem

I opened my iMac Intel 21.5" 2.7GHz to replace my HDD. Now when I've turned it on, I can see the display with a torch. LED Backlight is not working , however after 20-30 mins, it comes on to full brightness and remains on. If I put it to sleep or turn the display off, it doesn't come back on. I have set the display to never go to sleep, this way I can at least work. However, the screen brightness does not change at all, no matter if its at minimum or maximum.

I have done the AHT and it says there is no problem.

Also, there are 10 glows from the bottom suggesting that there are 10 lights lighting up the screen from the bottom. Between those glows, there is slight darkness, and on the bottom edges too.

It looks like this.

Also, I'm not sure what or where the problem originates, but my guess is it is the LED driver board. There is a tutorial for the thick iMacs (link given below) but not for the slim ones.

I am in Pakistan and there is no official Apple store, just certified vendors but I cannot go there without being absolutely certain that I'll be ripped off.

Looks like your display is going... You can use an external display as a work around.

LED backlight comes on after 20 mins of turning the computer on. The brightness i would guess is halfway up, since changing it doesn't affect the brightness. After 10 more minutes, the brightness goes all the way up to maximum and remains that way till i turn the display off or shut the computer down. If I turn the display off, the LED doesn't come back on.

I think it has something to do with the LVDS cable. Or i hope thats the case because that is much cheaper to replace. I'm still not sure. Only if someone could diagnose it.

'Often you have to run AHT multiple times (especially in the case of overheating issues... if the machine isn't hot enough it will pass AHT, also with intermittent problems one run is not reliable) to get useful data from it.
