I ordered a brand new LCD digitizer assembly with the camera and home button already installed (to make this installation fast and easy). After installing, the screen remained dark, but I could see between the panels that it was emitting light. I then installed the assembly onto another iPhone and it worked perfectly. What could be causing this and how do I diagnose and fix it?

If you have a backlight but no image, most likely cause is tool damage to one of the display filters on the board. Pull up the black sticker from between the connectors and look for missing/damaged components.

If the phone was turned on when the screen was out of the phone this could happen
Install the screen again and close it in place then preform a hard restart by holding power and home button together at same time for 7 seconds then let go of the home and continue holding power then hopefully you will see the apple logo
