What's the best way to improve my mac for gaming

I want to improve my macbook pro for gaming (currently playing days sa) because my FPS is a little bit low.

Macbook pro 13-inch late 2011

2,8 GHz Intel Core i7

4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Intel HD-video 3000 384 MB

I've read that i can replace my 4gb RAM to 16 gb (2x8gb) RAM and because it's not to expensive this is a good option for me. I only don't have an idea how much it will improve and if i will have to upgrade other parts as well like a SSD /flash drive. I really don't have knowledge how these parts work together.

So my question is, what's the best and not to expensive way to improve my macbook. feel free to suggest what i should improve on this laptop!

Maybe good to know, i've installed windows with bootcamp and split my 750gb harddrive in 2 partitions (2x375gb)

Feel free to comment what you think i should do and big thanks in advance!

Robert

Hey Robert!

Unfortunately, your Macbook Pro just isn't made for gaming. It has an integrated graphics processor (Intel HD 3000), which is great for day-to-day tasks, but not gaming. This graphics processor is actually built into your Macbook's CPU, which means you can't upgrade it.

You can upgrade your RAM to 16GB if you want, but it won't really improve your FPS by much. RAM upgrades are mostly useful for users who do a lot of multitasking and/or do calculation intensive tasks like 3D rendering and photo editing.

As for upgrading to a SSD, it'll greatly speed up your Macbook's boot and application launch time. But like RAM, it really won't affect the FPS in your games.

I hope this helps!

by your description, you don't have a dedicated graphics chip.... you have the integrated of the processor itself. and those are quite weak. you wont be able to run recent games at a decent level at all.
