iPhone Screen Replacement Doesn't Fit

What could be the problem if my iPhone 5 screen replacement doesn't fit?

I notice that the glass is separated from the actual frame of the screen replacement but even still if that was glued or fastened properly, shouldn't it still remain flat? I think the fact that it still sits awkwardly outward like that might reveal a deeper issue. Thoughts? Thank you.

Yes but my point is the fact that it is still being pushed up may underlie another issue because this phone was repaired and had a shattered screen. I am wondering if the fall may have bent anything else inside the phone to make the screen pop out like that? You can also see that the frame that holds the glass is not flush...

If you are having an issue with the screen not fitting at the bottom (next to the home screen), some manufacturers put a sticker in this area. A few of the manufacturers i've had screens from have had a sticker covering a small dent in the screen which a part component of the main phone falls into when the screen is on. If this sticker is covering the hole the comment can't slot into it and therefor the bottom of the screen doest sit flush. Remove the sticker and the issue should be resolved.

Hi everyone, it has been quite awhile but I am sorry to say that that phone was a lost cause, however, I ran into the same exact issue on another phone and realized that the front rear camera and earpiece chord were positioned underneath the aluminum plate on the digitizer when really the chord needed to be on top of it. It is what fits into the tiny rubber circle at the top of the phone. Anyway, that fixed it!

FYI, I did get a refund for the frame even though it was my fault! I kept putting new ones on and the same thing would happen over and over. These tiny things can ruin everything on these tiny complicated machines.

Couple things to look at.

The rear camera is on that side of the phone. It is possible the camera was not sitting flush in the frame when the screen was reassembled. Remove the screen and check the camera.

The other thing is that the screen assembly was just not seated completely into the frame during reassembly. Ensure that when you reassemble, start at the top, get the screen seated into the frame good, then continue seating the frame, working down towards the bottom.

Thank you. Upon the arrival of my new screen today, I will check these two things and see if this fixes my issue.

You can't buy an Apple OEM screen, but yes, buy the best quality screen possible. Look for a reputable company such as mobiledefenders or repairsuniverse. I've bought plenty of screens from ebay in the past, but I stay with these two as much as possible.

I too had a problem, at the home end. I have a great deal of experience with such assemblies and still this one was very wrong. The disassembly was clean and reassembly was perfect, rite down to the unblemished aluminum edge at the bottom. It was a bit befuddling, so I had repeatedly disassembled and reassembled. Logically I couldn't believe the screen wouldn't fit, so many times. I tried removing some of the plastic around the inside bottom edge to give the thing a rounded smooth start. Still no go. Cracked under pressure. Anyone else?

Yeah, in a similar situation too!

I'm still not completely sure what to with this problem. I tried to replace my iPhone 5 screen a few days ago, the problem was just that my phone wouldn't work and the screen didn't seem to fit into the metal frame of the iPhone. I was worried about this situation, I gave up for a while, but when I had a look at it yesterday, my phone turned on and the phone seems to work decently fine, other than that my screen doesn't seem to fit the metal frame of the phone witch seems to affect the home button as it's not working :-(

I solved that by going to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> then I enabled the Assistive Touch (which helped me a lot to use the phone)

Thankfully, I haven't cracked my new screen :-)

Does anyone know what I can do to make my screen fit better?
