My phone originally would only charge when turned off. So I replaced the dock, and headphone jack (for a separate issue). Now it will not charge at all. Any ideas? Did I forget to connect something, or not connect it back properly? I am bumfuzzled.

The dock connecter plugs into the logic board and is cover by a plate which has 2 screws in it, (see image) aslong as you connected that connector it should charge unless you have a faulty dock connector.
try another replacement dock connector.
