Will removing the mid frame allow the sim slot to be removed?

I want to remove and replace my sim slot, as it is no longer working. I may have bent a contact last time I replaced the sim, as I've been switching back and forth between my htc one and my s3. Now it won't recognize any sim, neither mine nor my wife's (both att). I can order a new slot assy for $5-10 and I have all the screwdrivers and prying tools needed for the mid frame removal. Is that all I'd need or will it be a lot more wor after the mid frame is removed? Also, at that point, should I just send it to a professional? If so, who do you suggest? Thanks. Pete A.
