Exact Torx Drivers Needed for HD Replacement

There are several torx styles out there.

Under Tools List at the top: Tools list indicates T6 & T8 drivers needed (which I have).

Under Required Tools at the bottom: Tools list indicates T6 & TR8 needed (I don't have any TR drivers, often referred to as Security Torx).

What exact Torx drivers are really needed. I've found that not everyone realizes all the Torx styles out there, and though standard T drivers will work on Torx Plus applications you can't get a proper torque, TR screws on the other hand have a post in the middle so a standard T driver won't work. I just happened to have a 2007 20" open and tested it out to make sure. It uses a standard T8 bit. I've only seen security torx used on a couple of Mac power supplies.

Hey mate, you don't need a TR8 driver to replace the hard drive, as uses standard T8 screws. It just says that its required at the bottom, as Ifixit recommends you buying a TR8 over a T8 as its more useful and means you only need one screw driver, not two.
