Why on a call people can't hear me?

I'm currently having problems with my phone in that at times people can't hear me and I can hear them fine. Anyone come across this problem and a solution before? Thanks

It's not the ear speaker, it is the mic, which is connected to the dock connector. Change your dock connector first.
