Home and top botton not working & red screen after screen replacement

Hello,

I dropped my phone and cracked my screen and my friend (who has helped me out twice before with no problems) swapped out the broken screen with a new one I bought on ebay, and now i have two problems:

1. Both the home button and the top button do no work. I was able to use the phone at first by getting to the screens i wanted to though the notifications pull down, but could not get back to the home screen or turn the phone off/ restart the phone. In order to get the "assistive touch" button, I needed to let my phone die so that when I plugged it back in and it turned back on, I would be able to access the settings button.

2. When my phone finally died and I went to plug it back in, i got the Apple screen and then a red screen. It keeps going back and fourth from that Apple screen to the red one and will not actually turn on.

Any ideas? I would ideally like to fix both issues (the buttons and the red screen)
