MacBook Pro logic board component replace?

Hey guys, I've got a question about some component on my logic board of my 13" macbook pro (mid-2010) model (1278)

I'm repairing some liquid damage on this laptop with succes so far. I've cleaned the whole logic board with isopropyl alcohol, but unfortunately the (new) battery won't charge when plugged in the power source (mac does boot) I think it might be the mac-safe board but I also noticed a lose component..I think the part in the picture below isn't connection properly? (3 of 4 pins are loose) What is the function of this? Can it be replaced?

I'm going to replace that piece with a brand new one! You got any instructions for doing such operation? Just solder it loose and replace it? Or is that piece also connected with the other side of the logic board? For the corrosion, should I continue with cleaning the board with Isopropyl alcohol? or is there a better solution or method for this?

Alex - You may want to try a solution of water and baking soda (tablespoon to a quart of distilled water). Use a tooth brush and scrub lightly with the solution. Afterwards wash the area down with straight distilled water and then go over the area with a good quality of isopropyl alcohol to help pull the water out.

The MOSFET is only soldered on one side of the board. It is a surface mounted component versus a through-the-hole component. Follow Dan's advice about the cleaning.

Alex, Dan is correct it is a FET. Actually what you are looking at is reference designator Q7085which is a SI7149DP P-Channel 30-V (D-S) MOSFET. It functions in the PBus Supply & Battery Charger circuitry as a battery/load switching device. It may just have come lose, but I would think that the small contacts have corroded away. I would replace it with a new one to eliminate second guessing. The cost of the component at places like this is minimal compared to a new logicboard. You also want to clean your board a bit more. On your images it appears as if there is still plenty of corrosion left. Hope this helps, good luck

This is part of the power system it's a FET switching transistor and yes, it appears to have become disconnected or it might be blown.

I had the same issue except 3 of the leads were completely corroded off. I don't know where they should end up.
