Retrofit BT 4.0 + WiFi Card (Airport) from 2012 models

Are the parts from the Mid 2012 MBP models compatible with the 2011 model?

Backgroun:

I need to test some BT 4.0 LE devices and I want to "upgrade" my Airport Chip from the existing one to the one that is included with the 13" 2012 model.

Using an external dongle IS NOT a n option since I already have only 2 USB ports.

I know this should work on generic laptops but I wanted to know if there are any restrictions when it comes to Macs
