Display error after unpluging and re-pluging display cable

Hello iFixit community, I need you help!

I opened my iPhone 5 because the display borders were a bit more white than the rest of the screen and I thought it may be the cable (I turned it off before opening of corse). I removed the cable shield and all cables, waited a few moments and replugged everything. Now there are lines all over the screen and the colors and the resolution are verry weird. It seems to only display every second pixel and a very low color range. Also the screen "burns in" everything it displays (you can still see the homescreen if you're in an App).

I opened it a few times now and tried to see if there's dust or a broken pin in the connector but I simply can't see anything broken. I also made sure that the cables were plugged in properly before closing the phone but without luck.

I have no idea what to do now.

I'll post a link to a picture of the screen as soon as possible!

Looks like you have damaged the screen. You will need a new one

Thank you for your reply!

But how could this happen? I only unplugged the cables and plugged them back in...

No problem update with you progress

Seems like it was damaged before you opened it if your saying the bordered were whiter than normal!

Even lifting the screen a little higher than 90 degrees can damage the flex

The display was surprisingly loose, it was easily liftable a bit more than 90 degrees, I didn't even want to lift it that high but it just fell in that direction so I rolled with it.. Well it seems like that is the problem...

Thank you for your help!
