I have water damage to my comp. the only thing that id wrong though is that certain keys do not work, about one third. Certain keys don't work at all (nothing gets typed) and certain keys type multiple different things.

It might just work to replace the keyboard ribbon, not the whole keyboard, specify your model and I can direct you to the part.

@machead3 I am in the same board with an A1211. Spilled some tea on some keys only. about 4 of them no longer work. What do you mean by the entire top case? Is that different from ordering the keyboard replacement?
Funny thing is I stopped using one of those rubbery keyboard protectors cause I didn't like how it yellowed over time. Now I have an $85 keyboard replacement coming :-)

I understand now, you're talking about a unibody. My A1211 isn't a unibody and after looking at the iFixit guide for it, it appears I can just swap out the keyboard and hopefully that will be it.

On the "non unibody" MBS the keyboard is indeed changeble. Just follow this guide. Be shure to order the right one as there are a few different flavours (chocolate, banana, strawberry ;-)). You can check for the right parts here. Apparently the Santa Rosa Keyboards are different from the 2.16 & 2.33 (Penryn?) Models.
