now my phone constantly says searching

I had my iphone 5 in a lifeproof case, but the case had a slight tare in it. I fell into some water, but not enough to cause major damage I thought. I took it out of the case an hour or so later and it was fine. It then started to show the apple icon and some codes at the top of that when I would turn it on. I have managed to get everything to work properly, but now my phone constantly says searching. I can use wifi but that's it. Any suggestions?

It might be corrosion on the lightning connector socket. I'm not sure about the iPhone 5, but for earlier models the first thing you would want todo was generally to turn of the phone and clean the dock connector using a isopropyl and a toothbrush. The new connector is more sophisticated though, so I'm not certain it would be affected the same way. But worth a try perhaps.
