touch screen non responsive

Yesterday i was replacing the glass on my galaxy s3 and the phone fell out of my hand and fell about foot from the ground. when the phone fell is did have the broken glass on it and i was in the process of replacing the screen. when i picked up the phone it was fine but one of the screws on the left side of the battery had fallen out. i continued replacing the screen and got all done and the phone powered on perfectly but the touch screen wasn't working. Everything on the phone works fine all the buttons and even the screen rotates. The touch screen is non responsive. I tried couple things already taking the phone apart and cleaning the cable for digitizer. and placed the cable back one, nothing changed. Please help, i really dont have enough to buy a digitizer.
