light turns from red to yellow to green then red again

i was givin a ps3 160 gb when i turned it on it went from red, then kind of yellow for a sec then green, and back to red. would the repairs related to yellow ring of death, be applied here. thank you

You must be inserting any wrong disk or there is according to me any hardware malfunction so need to fix it.

thank you for that and now thinking about it, the disk doesnt open or close when i attempt to put a disc in, its as if ones already in there
