Computer doesn't start after cleaning

Hello, I have an issue with my MacBook mid 07.

My computer was running slow and encountering a lot of failures. So, I thought, I would give it an internal clean and reapply thermal compound to the CPU. (I've taken apart many machines in the past, and have a strong technical knowledge of computers). I removed everything from the base casing, and cleaned everything with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. After rebuilding, my machine will not start under any circumstance. If I plug in the MagSafe charger, I get two flashes of green then a solid green, as if the battery is fully charged, even after completely removing the battery. The machine does not start on battery alone either. I notice, that while plugged in, the area an components located left of the CPU get extremely hot over time. Did I damage the logic board upon maintaniance, or is there still hope for this machine? Any thoughts are welcome. Thank you.
