Screen replacement not working.

I have replaced plenty of iphone screens and I am stuck.

I have a iphone 4s front screen to replace and at this point I have tried 4 (new) screens but all stay black screen but as soon as I put the old screen in, it fires up straight away, I have even taken other broken screens and they work too.

I use a tester ribbon cable so I don't need to take the phone apart, which I thought that could be the problem at first, until I tested the other broken screens which work..

all 4 of the new screens have been from different suppliers and doubt I would hit 4 dud screens in a row..

would the new screens not work as the phone isn't on ios7??? (had this problem with the 3GS once as the new screen was only compatible with a newer firmware..

Very funny that the screens will not work especially 4 of them..what iOS is the phone on?

I have heard about done screens not working on old iOS firmware..

Would be interesting if the person would let you install iOS 7 just to see

I am getting the owner to update her phone next week so will try that out and let you know if this works, just read on another post that a screen wasn't working at version 5 and then updated it to 7.0.4 and it worked so hopefully this is the problem..

wont see her now until I'm back at work, she has a new phone and is looking to sell it in a better condition than what it was..
