Replaced Blu-drive still will not read disk

Ok I replaced the Blu-ray drive the old one would not read the disk.After I replace it would not take the disk after fix that the the new drive will read the disk. Ok what am doing wrong

Did you just replace the laser? or the whole drive? I had a similar problem, and had to replace the whole drive.
