water damage. Still powers up but cannot see the screen?
Ipod fell into water. Unit still powers up but cannot see the screen. What can be done to fix this?

I would check LCD connector first (mother board side usually gets corroded) before replace the backligth coil.
In my experience resoldering work on LCD connector usually fix the problem. You may also need a new LCD.
In my experience 80% soldering LCD connector fixed backlight. Only 20% needed backlight coil.
