iPad mini submerged in flood water and mud

The iPad was submerged in floodwaters for several days and ended up covered with mud for several more days before it could be retrieved. It was washed and drained and nothing more has been done to it. Is there any chance it could be reasonably salvaged if disassembled, all the internal parts cleaned of residue and corrosion and reassembled with a new battery or should it go in the trash? The flood occurred September 12, 2013.

i would try and clean the inside of the ipad... maybe it can be fix.... look up waterdamadge repair

Timing is critical. The sooner you attempt to repair water damage the more luck you will have. Take apart the ipad and remove the logic board. Submerge the logic board in IPA for 15 minutes. Take it out and use a soft bristle tooth brush to scrub the logic board.

You can also take this to most repair shops, they usually have ultrasonic cleaners. These are much better at cleaning the bad stuff off the board.

Let is dry for at least 12 hours. Reassemble, and see if iTunes detects it.
