Buzzing noise from under keyboard when fans spin up

Hi, I have recently replaced my HDD with an SSD and then I replaced my optical drive with the old HDD.

Everything seemed to be fine but then every time the fans spinned up I could hear a loud buzzing noise coming from under the keyboard.

If I put my fingers above the keyboard, in the space between it and the hinge, and perform a very slight pressure then the noise stops (but then starts again if i remove my fingers).

At first I thought the culprit was the optibay adapter, so I removed it and restored the original optical drive, but this proved not to be true.

So I've tightened a bit more the bottom case screws and now most of the times the fans spin up everything is fine, yet some other times I still get the buzzing noise (but much more less audible).

At the beginning the noise was not tolerable but now, after tightening the screws I think i can live with it.

Anyway I was wondering what could be the cause of this behaviour, and how can I solve it.

I've read some other people had problems due to failing fans, but from what I could observe I don't think this is my case.

The clearances are very tight so it doesn't take much here to do the 'shake, rattle n' roll' ;-}

While you may not think so I've seen a few buzzers which it was the fans bearing. The other cause is the cover was dented. You may need to check both again it you want to resolve this.

I checked the cover and it seems to be ok, so I guess that against my first thought the bearings cold effectively be the problem.

I'll see if I can get them replaced under warranty.

They don't replace the fans bearings just the entire fan unit.

I called Apple and they asked me to send the computer in for repair. I'll keep you updated.

I sent the computer in for repairs and yesterday the technician wrote me back: the extensive test they have performed have not revealed a single issue, so he asked me if it was ok to send me the computer back. Of course I said NO, because the computer costed me 1650€, is still under warranty and when it starts buzzing I'd just like to throw it out of the window! I asked if they could replace the fans anyway, and I'm still waiting for the answer. I'm afraid this will take a long time... If they don't do anything I swear this will be my last Apple computer!

I owned a lot of cheaper notebooks (writing from a 2006 Aspire 3050), that are still running geat, but my two MacBook Pros were the only ones to have hardware issues.

Tell the tech to take the ear buds out ;-}
