iPhone stuck in recovery mode after power button repair

My power button was only working intermittently, so I followed the guide to replace the power button. There wasn't a detailed description of how the power button, power cable, and power button bracket should fit back together - and as it rather falls apart when disassembling I didn't see their original configuration. I wasn't sure if the swiveling silver bar on the power button has a special purpose related to the power cable?

I successfully got all tucked up again and finished the repair. Now my power button doesn't work at all, and worse, my iPhone is stuck in recovery mode when I plug it in.

I've connected it to iTunes to restore, but after update (iOS 7 was already installed) and going through the restore process, it still boots up in recovery mode. I tried twice, same result.

Any clues to a cable that didn't seat all the way or a part that might be damaged that would cause this?

To get out of recovery mode, download RecBoot. It takes the iPhone out of recovery mode. For the power button, try reinstalling. If that doesn't help, make sure the cable is seated in the logic board correctly.

Make sure that your iPhone is in recovery mode, not DFU mode.

http://www.android-recovery-transfer.com...

If it's in recovery mode, you can get it out of the mode by clicking the Restart button. If it's in DFU mode, you can try to exit DFU mode manually: press the Home and Power button at the same time for about 15 seconds, until you see the Apple logo appearing on the screen. Then release the buttons and your iPad will be back to normal.

I would say your suffering from pry damage if you took battery out and leavered a tool off the motherboard to pry battery up then you have knocked components off..
