Battery charges up to 5%, then it stops charging
Hello!
I have an iphone 4 that got wet. I disassembled it to dry it and I left it for a week. By the way it was working, I thought battery got broken, so then I bought a new one.
Now when I connect the iphone when the battery is over, it charges. But when it gets to 5%, iOS automatically turns on as it should be, the battery stops charging (though the dock is connected). Then it runs out of battery, and then recharges again, iOS starts, and then battery runs out again, getting into an eternal loop.
What might be the problem? Thank you very much for your help!

I tried a solution that partly works... the iPhone battery charges when it's off!!!! When it's on, I connect the dock and it's not charging, then I power the mobile off and, nothing appears in the screen, and few hours later, I turn it on again and battery it's 100%!!!!
Probably the problem is something related to what oldturkey wrote. Though it's annoying to have the iPhone off to charge it, at least I can use it.
Thank you very much for your help!
