Recently, I got a BSOD and laptop gave 8 beeps and no display while restarting. I got it checked, GPU was fried, so I got it replaced. I'm still gettings 8 beeps. I tried using external monitor on a vga port and it works fine. Also, I've got the LCD display checked, it has no problem. It seems LCD is not being detected by the system. Please help!

I got the same problem lately and I found this peace of solution somewhere in the internet, so it worked for me, thanks God, I hope it works for you too. I am just quoting the same sentence word by word so you could give it a try.

Since the external monitor works, you know it's not a fault with the video card.
With the notebook off, hold down the "D" key and power the notebook on. If you get solid colors on the screen, then you know the LCD is good. I would look for a problem with the video cable. Just recently, someone found that the front bezel was creating a problem with the video cable. ""

@ david chase, read the question "external monitor on a vga port and it works fine" how would reinstalling a driver fix this????

Aman, have you checked the LVDS cable as well as the inverter?8 beeps is also indicative of video failure.If you are not able to get any video on the laptop LCD and the video is fine when the laptop is connected to an external monitor, we determine the issue to be that of LCD failure. How did you check the LCD?

oldturkey03, thanks for the comment. I suspect LVDS cable might be causing the problem. I'll try to check and report back.
