Won't start up. Magsafe plug turns green but won't power up.
I have a black Core Duo 2.0ghz Macbook. It was working fine until last night. Left it unplugged and the battery ran down, when i plugged the connector in, it turned green(but didn't switch to yellow, so no charging) and the machine won't power up. no chime, no hard drive noises, etc. i pulled the drive and put it in an external case and it's completely fine.
i tried:
- removing the battery and power and holding the power switch down for 5 seconds.
- plugging it in to a spare power supply (they both light up green but don't switch to yellow)
- trying to start up with the battery removed.
nothing works. is this is a dead logic board? i don't want to go through the hassle of swapping it out if it might be something simpler!
has anyone run into this problem?
Questa è una buona domanda?

Well here's a weird one! I posted this question almost a full year ago. I wasn't able to get that macbook running. The brand new battery didn't do the trick, a different power supply didn't fix it, letting it sit unplugged for a few days didn't either. i eventually stuck it in a drawer with the battery out and forgot about it.
Just for the heck of it yesterday, as i was cleaning my studio, i found it at the bottom of the junk pile. i was about to toss it back in the pile when i thought. 'why not? just for fun let's plug it in'
what do you know? i stuck the old hard drive back in, inserted the (now fully drained) battery plugged it in and it started up just as good as brand new!
I can't explain it. 12 months at the bottom of a junk drawer seemed to do the trick. the battery is fully charged and working, and the computer is as good as new.
I don't know why, but i'm not complaining about a happy ending!
