one solder is missing to read sim card

What's an easy fix to fixing one of the 6 copper looking points on the sim card reader that appears to be broken off? My husband pushed something down there to try to hold the sim card in place when he broke the little tray. I got a new tray, but it won't read the card. The screen is also now all messed up. When I opened it up I see that only 2 of the 3 copper points show thru the plate cover.

Looks like there is no easy fix for this problem unfortunately. That being said, you are going to have to replace the sim card tray on the motherboard and it looks like it will require soldering. From the looks of it the assembly that holds the pins can be replaced separately from the metal housing. Youll just have to unsolder the 6 connections on the board, slide the old unit out, slide the new one in and solder it back in place.

I found a few vendors that sell the replacement trays by doing a quick google search, but you are going to need to find someone who can solder the new part in place.

Good Luck :)

As valkyrie says you need to replace the SIM Card Junctor Reader, a $3 part. It requires soldering skill. Search YouTube for a good video of the entire procedure.
