Can my G5 be saved from being a paperweight?

Is it worth the time, money or effort to save my Power Mac G5, 2005? It seems a waste to junk it after all the money i've invested in it.

The G5 is making the jet engine (fan noise) sound that other posts have mentioned. MacMall technicians said it could be the logic board, the fans or the hard drive failing? I read a post that said it could also just need the heat sensor software reset by an Apple Authorized technician??

Only you know how much you can afford to invest in repairing this. You haven't given much diagnostic information or background for us to help you. The more we know the more useful we can be.

The "the jet engine (fan noise) sound " could be failed/failing temperature sensor (the "default") for this condition is to run the fans at max to keep from cooking components. It could be true overheating because at this age the thermal paste on your CPU or VGU needs replacing.

Run AHT 2 or 3x if needed it should report out which sensor is failed, or other causes.

Once you have some more details come back and update your post. We can be more help then.
