Salt H2O damage, multiple issues
My iPhone 4 (in otterbox defender)was exposed to salt water- splashed, not submersed. I dried it for several days in rice. Did not learn I should have flushed it with fresh water until after it was dry. The phone would not power on so I replaced the battery. I replaced the battery and the phone now works, but has several issues.
1. Power/sleep button does not work. Button depresses normally but no response.
2. WiFi cannot be turned on from settings menu.
3. Bluetooth won't connect.
4. Screen flickers rapidly, has fine black lines that travel the short width of the screen (regardless which orientation you hold it), and has a "grayed out" appearance.
All other functions appear to work. Phone takes a charge when plugged in to wall adapter. Touch screen works fine, front and rear cameras work. I can make and receive calls and check email. Head phone jack and speaker works. I couldn't see any visible corrosion when I had the case open for the battery repair.
I have searched the archives but can't determine if the above issues are interelated or independent. I can't find any reference to WiFi not turning on. I'm not sure which things to replace first and not sure if the WiFi receiver/antenna is the same as the cellular antenna or is a separate part. Should I replace things in sequence in the hopes that one item will fix multiple issues or should ? replace all at once?
