Allan Jones responded to my inquiry on Apple support community post on 5/4/13.
I am located near Madison, WI. He suggested finding someone who could solder the connector to the board. Any suggestions?

Also get: fine point replacement tips, desoldering braid and some practice boards (you'll want a lot) it's easy to burn up the board & traces. (See why I said it might be smarter to pay someone to do this?)

Use the yellow pages or google for electronics repair shop. Soldering component boards (and disassembly of that sonic sealed uint) is not an easy DIY project.
